Total and Eni Q2 profits hit by weaker US dollar and Lybian disruptions

The French and Italian oil giants, Total SA and Eni SpA reported on Friday lower quaterly earnings, despite higher prices for oil, blaming unfavourable exchange rates, a dollar weakness and production losses following war disruptions in Libya which closed some oil fields.

Statoil delayed its planned output increase by 2012.

Norway's Statoil decreased its 2010 oil and gas production target on Wednesday, after heavy maintenance work in the third quarter that affected its earnings and casted doubt on its plans to increase the output to 14% by 2012.
