Statoil doubled its net income in 2011

Statoil ASA, Norway’s largest oil and natural gas company is aiming to spend about $3 billion for the completion of approximately 40 wells during 2012, following its plans to raise production to 2.5 million barrels of oil equivalent a day in 2020, as it expands abroad and seeks to maintain production at home.

Norway granted 60 oil production licenses in mature fields

Norway oil, gas investments rising to a record in 2012

Total investments in oil and gas sector in Norway could hit a record of NOK184.6 billion ($32.0 billion) in 2012 from NOK152.6 billion in 2011, driven by continuous high oil prices and the need to upgrade ageing infrastructure, according to Statistics Norway.
