German utility RWE’s first half profit hit by nuclear exit
The German energy group, RWE said that its first-half net profit sharply plunged by 39% to €1.7 billion ($2.4 billion), amid supplementary costs related to the country’s decision to phase out nuclear power and a tax on nuclear fuel.

German investors await British nuclear decision
German energy companies such as, EON and RWE, wait for a final political decision as to know how to proceed with its future investments into the construction of nuclear power plants in the UK. Meanwhile, German newspapers cited that the two German companies see the plans development costs as too high, expecting to invest 16 billion euros.

Statoil to explore deepwater prospect in Gulf of Mexico
The Norwegian oil firm said on Wednesday that it is buying a stake in a deepwater prospect, called Kakuna in the Gulf of Mexico, operated by Nexen, a global energy leader based in Canada.

Statoil sold 24.1 percent of its gas pipeline stake
The Norwegian state energy giant, Statoil said on Monday that it will sell a 24.1 percent stake in the world's largest offshore gas pipeline network to an investment group including German insurer Allianz and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority for 17.35 billion crowns ($3.25 billion).
