Scotland's renewables industry displaces record amount of CO2 emissions

According to official statistics, Scotland has recorded the largest ever drop of CO2 emissions. Scotland's renewable electricity industry generated 14,825 GWh last year, displacing 10.3 million tones of CO2, a 24% increase if compared to the 8.3Mt of CO2 displaced in 2011.

EIA: Renewables provide 14% of electricity generation in H1 2013

Renewable energy sources provided 14.20 % of the United States net electric generation during the first half of the year (through June 30, 2013), according to recent figures released the "Monthly Energy Review" by the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA). During the same period in 2012, renewables accounted for 13.57 % of net electrical generation.

Italy, Spain blamed by European Commission over failure to comply with renewable energy law

UK: renewable generation increased more than 50% in the second quarter of 2013

According to figures offered by DECC in the second quarter of this year renewables output in UK increased 56% to 12.8 TWh. Due to increased capacity and high wind speeds wind production augmented by 62%, hydro was up almost 30% while solar, wave and tidal registered a 22% increase.
