DONG Energy to build the biggest offshore wind farm in the world

DONG Energy has announced it intends to develop the Walney Extension Offshore Wind Farm which will be located in the Irish Sea, off the west coast of Cumbria, Britain, close to the 367.2 MW Walney Offshore Wind Farm. After having obtained all permits from relevant authorities the Danish society has announced its final investment decision last month.

Statoil will invest in a new renewable project in Scotland

Statoil has recently announced that it intends to invest about 236 million dollars in a new renewable project in Scotland. They talk about building the first floating wind farm off the Scottish coast, near Buchan Deep. The project will consist of five floating 6MW turbines totaling 30MW, which should be enough to power 20,000 homes.

TenneT contracted a conglomerate for an environmental impact assessment of the Dutch grid

TenneT has contracted a conglomerate composed of engineering consultancy Witteveen & Bos and Mott MacDonald to offer an environmental impact evaluation (EIA) for the grid connection itinerary for the Dutch South Coast offshore wind farm area.
