Brent crude oil futures increased on Thursday, having hit a five-week high as OPEC’s failure to increase oil production spurred more worries on supplies. ICE Brent crude oil for July delivery valued 119.57 dollars, up 1.72 dollars, having hit the utmost level since May 4.

A $7bn LNG plant near Vladivostok
Gazprom and a consortium of Japanese companies will invest $7 billion in the construction of a LNG plant in the Far Eastern Russia, near the Pacific port of Vladivostok, as the Russian giant plans to boost its natural gas supplies to Europe.

Swiss government votes to phase out nuclear power by 2034
Nuclear power supplies 40% of Switzerland’s electricity, but under the pressure from the largest anti-nuclear protest of the last 25 years, at which participated about 20,000 people, the Swiss government has proposed a complete decommissioning of nuclear power by 2034.

Ukraine wants smaller prices for Russian natural gas delivery
Alexei Miller, Gazprom Chief Executive Officer visited Kiev on Tuesday, May 24 for talks with Energy and Coal Industry Minister Yuriy Boiko to negotiate prices for natural gas supplies to Ukraine.
