Oil prices rose on Friday as traders anticipated that OPEC+ would discuss output reductions at their meeting on September 5. Gains were however constrained by concerns about China's COVID-19 limitations and the status of the global economy. As a result, WTI crude oil moved up by 0.3% to $86.87, while Brent crude oil closed 0.7% higher at $93.02.

Daily (03.08.2022): Oil prices rose on Tuesday ahead of OPEC meeting

On Tuesday oil forward prices saw a slight increase ahead of this week OPEC+ meeting, which may not result in a further increase in crude production due to concerns that a potential global recession may restrict energy demand. As such, Brent crude oil price settled 0.5% higher at $100.54, WTI crude rose by 0.6% to $94.42 per barrel.

Daily (31.05.2022): Oil prices hit two-month high on Monday amid easing restrictions in China, EU meeting

Crude oil prices extended gains, hitting two-month highs on Monday amid loosening COVID-19 restrictions in China and expectations that the European Union will eventually reach an agreement to ban Russian oil imports. Hence, Brent crude rose by $2.24, or 1.9%, to settle at $121.67 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude futures added 1.7%, to $116.86 a barrel.
