French regulator will allocate energy purchasers to new suppliers
Corporate French gas or electricity purchasers who have not moved from regulated tariffs to a market-based offer by July 1 will be allocated a new supplier chosen by energy market regulator CRE, as stated by CRE on Tuesday.

Ukraine agrees gas agreement with European providers
Ukrainian state energy company Naftogaz has decided to acquire 1.7 billion cubic metres (bcm) of gas from European suppliers at a price of $188-$211 per thousand cubic metres, as stated by the firm on Thursday.

UK regulator to extend energy market investigation to June 2016
Britain’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has prolonged the timetable for its probe into the country’s largest energy suppliers by six months to late June 2016 to allow it to consider responses to its initial findings in July.

Engie signed its first retail LNG deal in the United Kingdom
ENGIE has just inked its first retail LNG sales agreement in the UK with FLOGAS Britain, one of the biggest alternative energy solutions suppliers to industrial clients in the UK. Over a period of 18 months, ENGIE will supply 8,000 tonnes of LNG to FLOGAS Britain from Isle of Grain terminal (South-East coast of the UK). Altogether, 400 Flogas Britain trailers will be loaded to supply industrial firms that are not linked to the natural gas grid. Operations will launch in the next few weeks.

UK Energy provider SSE will reduce gas tariffs from April 30
SSE will cut household gas prices by 4.1 percent on April 30, turning into the fifth of the UK's six large energy suppliers to reduce customer tariffs after a decline in wholesale costs.
