Cost of South Stream gas pipeline section in Serbia rises by 24%

The cost of planned South Stream gas pipeline section in Serbia has soared as much as 24 percent since November 2013, hitting a total amount of EUR 2.1 billion compared with the cost of EUR 1.7 billion estimated by the Russian energy minister Alexander Novak in November 2011.

Daily: British prompt gas plunge on ample supply

Crude oil prices rallied on Monday as the West increased pressure on Russia over its involvement in the downing of Malaysia passenger jet last week. Brent crude for September delivery increased by 44 cents to settle at $107.68 a barrel. Prompt U.S. oil for August delivery boosted by $1.46 to close at $104.59 a barrel, as traders rushed to cover positions ahead of Tuesday's expiration. WTI price for September delivery soared 91 cents to settle at $102.86 a barrel.

France: EDF to lower electricity tariffs for most energy-intensive factories
