Tullow Oil quits its Lupus exploration well in Norway
Tullow Oil PLC unveiled it had stopped up and quitted its Lupus exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea blaming its failure to find any hydrocarbons. The well is 35km south-east of the Oseberg Sor Field and 110km west of the island of Sotra in the North Sea.

Daily: Crude oil prices rally on Malaysian airplane crash, Gaza conflict
Crude oil prices slipped in thin trade on Friday, but posted their firstly weekly increase in a month following the crash of the Malaysian plane over eastern Ukraine and as Israeli troupes invaded Gaza. Brent dropped 65 cents to close at $107.24 a barrel, reversing the previous day's gains. WTI crude slipped 6 cents to hit $103.13, after touching a session high of $103.94 and settling $1.99 higher on Thursday, a hike that partially reversed three weeks of losses.

Carbon tax is over: Australia’s Senate abolishes tax on carbon emissions
The Australian Senate voted 39 to 32 to repeal the nation’s controversial tax on carbon emissions after eight years of harsh political debate during which climate policy dominated three election campaigns and contributed to the resignation of two prime ministers.
