OPEC and the International Energy Agency both increased their demand forecasts for the year on Wednesday, shaking off the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA) report of a large increase in U.S. crude inventories, which resulted in only a slight decline in oil prices. Hence, Brent crude oil edged down at $85.38 a barrel.

Daily (30.01.2023): British gas prices fell on Friday amid mild weather outlook, signals of the return of Freeport LNG terminal
Crude oil prices moved downwards on Friday amid reports that oil loadings from Russia's Baltic ports were set to rise by 50% this month from December. Hence, Brent crude declined by 81 cents, or 0.9%, to settle at $86.66 per barrel. U.S. WTI crude decreased by $1.33, or 1.6 %, to settle at $79.68 a barrel.

Netherlands sticks to plan to close Groningen gas field by October
The Netherlands remains convinced of the need to close production at Groningen, once one of Europe's largest gas fields, by October following earthquake risks which made it dangerous to keep operating, the Financial Times (FT) reported on Sunday citing a government official.

UK to cut business energy subsidies by 85%
British government plans to scale back energy subsidies for businesses will see the cost of support fall by 85% during the next financial year, limiting the cost to 5 billion pounds ($6 billion), the Daily Telegraph reported on Friday.

Daily (22.11.2022): Energy complex climbed on Monday amid colder weather
Crude oil prices closed fractionally lower on Monday in a volatile trading session, after Saudi Arabia “categorically” denied a report that Opec was considering an increase in output that would help to counteract a loss of Russian crude supplies. Hence, Brent crude slipped by 0.2% to settle at $87.45 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude ended the day rather flat $80.04 a barrel.
