Crude oil prices continued to increase on Thursday, marking another settlement at the highest in over two weeks after U.S. government data revealed a weekly drawdown in domestic crude, gasoline and distillate inventories. Hence, Brent crude soared by 1.8% to settle at $76.05 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude increased by 1.7% to close at $73.62 a barrel.

Oil prices strengthened slightly on Wednesday, following a drop in US crude reserves. Gains, however, were limited by continued worries over the Covid pandemic. Brent oil edged 0.4% higher to $74.74 a barrel and WTI crude increased by 1% to $72.39 a barrel.

Oil prices are continuing a choppy sideways trade in absence of news. Uncertainty over the potential ramifications of the Delta wave which could jeopardize the energy demand recovery put pressure on crude prices. Hence, Brent crude settled at $74.48 a barrel, posting its first loss in six sessions. U.S. WTI crude lost 0.4% to close at $71.65 a barrel.

Crude oil futures diverged to trade rather flat on Monday amid mixed signals. Forecasts that crude supply will be tight the rest of the year provide little support, while the spread of the COVID-19 Delta variant stoked fears about fuel demand, limiting gains. Hence, Brent crude rose by 0.5% to settle at $74.50 a barrel, while U.S. WTI crude lost 0.2% to close at $ 71.91 a barrel.

Oil prices increased slightly on Friday, as signs of strengthening demand were offset by concerns over the Delta variant of the coronavirus. Hence, Brent crude gained merely 0.4% at $74.10 a barrel and WTI oil edged 0.2% higher at $72.07 a barrel.
