USA: The wind energy Production Tax Credit extended for one more year

The USA Congress has extended the Production Tax Credit (PTC) for a year, which will allow continued growth of the energy source that installed the most new electrical generating capacity in America last year. The new version of the tax will cover all the projects that start construction in 2013. After being approved by the Senate and the House it is now expected to be rapidly signed into law by the President Obama, who always supported the wind energy tax credits during the process.

U.S: Solar PV industry installs 684 MW in the third quarter of 2012

According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, about 684 MW of solar PV capacity was installed in the third quarter of 2012, up 44% in comparison to the same period of 2011. In the first 10 months of 2012 solar alone increased by 133%, with total U.S. solar PV power capacity amounting now over 5900 MW, with 1.2 gigawatts of solar photovoltaics installed, bringing 2012 installations to 3.2 gigawatts, enough to supply with power about 1 million households.

China boosts its solar subsidies in 2012, soaring Chinese solar stocks

China has boosted subsidies for its solar industry by 7 billion yuan ($1.1 billion) in 2012 to a total of 13 billion yuan, the government said on Wednesday, move aimed to help manufacturers crippled by excess capacity and fading foreign demand.
