Spain: Iberdrola will invest $5 billion in Mexico for a six-year period
Spanish utility Iberdrola intend to make an investment of minimum $5 billion (3.7 billion euros) in Mexico for a period of six years through 2018, as stated by Chairman Ignacio Sanchez Galan on Monday, since the country opens its traditionally enclosed energy market to private investment.

Spain: Iberdrola signed LNG contract estimated at $5.6 bln
Spanish power firm Iberdrola declared on Friday it had signed with Cheniere Energy Inc a liquefied natural gas (LNG) sale and acquisition deal estimated at $5.6 billion for a period of 20 years.

Iberdrola to invest more abroad and less in Spain
Spanish Iberdrola, the world’s major wind power generator, has expressed its disapproval regarding the latest energy market reform announced by the Spanish government, declaring that the changes in the energy policy will discourage important investment. The company’s net earnings reduced 7% in 2013, as a result of Spanish regulatory modifications and fiscal measures.

Scotland: Iberdrola has completed Europe’s largest onshore wind farm
ScottishPower Renewables, a subsidiary of the Spanish energy group Iberdrola Renovables, has announced it has completed the expansion of the Whitelee onshore wind farm in Scotland, located south of Glasgow. The capacity of the project has been enlarged from 322MW to 539MW installing 75 wind turbines manufactured by the French company Alstom.

Iberdrola gets the green light to build a new wind complex in Scotland
Iberdrola, through its UK arm ScottishPower Renewables, has got the green light from the Scottish Government for the construction of wind complex Kilgallioch, whose development will require an investment of about 465 million euros.
