New feed-in tariffs for anaerobic digestion in UK

The new feed-in tariff scheme for anaerobic digestion in UK was approved by the European Commission that took effect last September 30. Under the new scheme, the projects under 250 kW will receive 14 pence per kWh and 13 pence per kWh for projects with a capacity between 250 and 500 kW, while the anaerobic utilities up to 500 kW will receive 12.1 pence per kWh.

Germany’s Solar Millennium AG will sell its 2 solar power projects to Solarhybrid AG planned to be built in the United States for an unknown sum. The solar parks of 2.24 GW and 1GW capacity will be based in the United States.

Scotland to allot 6 million dollars worth for renewables

As to contribute at the development of renewable projects, the Scottish Government will allot over 6 million dollars worth loan through the Community and Energy Renewable scheme. By putting into operation all the projects, with a total wind and hydropower capacity of 56 MW, Scotland will achieve its goal of 500 MW of green energy by 2020.

Geothermal capacity to reach 25.1 GW by 2020

Global geothermal power capacity could reach 25.1 GW by the end of 2020, with 30 percent produced only in the United States. According to the released report by Pike Research, over 10.7 GW are put into operation in 26 countries, with the United States on the top with 3.08 GW of installed capacity.
