Brent crude posted its sharpest one-day decline in seven weeks on Monday as worries about disruptions to Iraqi crude supplies begun to ease given that exports have so far been unaffected by a Sunni Islamist rebellion. Iraq carries 90 percent of its crude exports from southern terminals, which are far away from the Sunni insurgency.

Daily: European coal prices plunge to new multi-year lows on oversupply

Brent crude rocketed to a nine-month high over $115 a barrel on Thursday as the United States said it would send up to 300 military advisers to Iraq, increasing worries about an intensification of conflict. Brent boosted 80 cents to hit $115.06 a barrel, the highest level since September 6. The U.S. crude oil futures contract for July delivery, which expires on Friday, increased 46 cents to close at $106.43.
