Crude oil prices extended seven-year highs on Tuesday amid concerns about tightening supply and exacerbating geopolitical tensions. Crude oil prices rose on Wednesday, on favorable US employment data, as well as a further drop in crude stocks in the United States. As such, Brent oil increased by 1% to $80.80 a barrel and WTI crude gained 1.1% at $77.85 a barrel.

Application submitted for Paks II containment
An application to build the containment building of the first new unit at Hungary's Paks II nuclear power plant has been submitted. Project company Atomerőmű Zrt said it should be approved within 150 days. Meanwhile, Hungary's nuclear regulator has assumed a new, more independent, legal status.
