Total makes a major discovery in the Barents Sea

Total EP Norge AS, operator of production license 535,along with its partners Rocksource, Det Norske and North Energy has announced a gas discovery on the Norvarg prospect in the Barents Sea. This is Norway’s second large gas discovery in the area this year.

Major gas discovery in Romania

Petrom, the biggest oil and gas producer in Romania, has reported the successful result of the exploration well 4539 Totea. The well, drilled following a recent 3D seismic program to a depth of 3600 meters in the Oltenia region of south-western Romania, is likely to contain substantial gas resources.

Statoil makes new discovery near Oseberg

Norway’s Statoil ASA has discovered oil and condensate in the North Sea’s Krafla West prospect. Located around 26 kilometers south-west of the producing Oseberg South find, the discovery well encountered hydrocarbons in two columns with a total thickness of 300 meters.

Norway considers grid restructuration to fuel Arctic oil/gas hub
