Daily (04.10.2019): The EUAs hit a six-month low on Thursday, pressured by mounting recession concerns

Crude oil prices slightly diverged on Thursday. WTI futures edged down by 0.4% to $52.45 a barrel, amid mounting crude demand worries, after pessimistic services sector and job growth figures in the U.S. added to the bearish macroeconomic tone set by earlier weak manufacturing readings. A stall in the Euro zone business growth reported for September also kept market under pressure. However, losses were capped by data showing lower U.S. oil output in July. Meanwhile, Brent crude was a shade higher at $57.71 a barrel, on hopes that a positive development might occur in the U.S.-China trade talks when these will resume on October 10.

BP awards key contracts for $6 billion worth Caspian Sea project

BP, as operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field development, has awarded key contracts for the the Azeri-Central-East (ACE) project located in the Azerbaijan’s sector of the Caspian Sea. Some of the construction activities have already started and will run through mid-2022.

Rosneft signs agreements on offshore gas field development with Mozambique

Russian state-run oil company Rosneft signed a memorandum of understanding with Mozambique's National Hydrocarbons Company (Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos E.P., ENH) to develop offshore natural gas fields, a TASS correspondent reported from the signing ceremony.

EBRD Finances Private-to-Private Solar Project in Jordan

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development together with its partners is supporting a pioneering energy project in Jordan with a financial package of up to $35 million. The project will enable the telecom operator Orange Jordan to cover part of its demand with clean energy generated in solar plants.
