Pattern to sign four new agreements with OPA

Pattern Energy Group LP and Samsung Renewable Energy announced the signing of four new agreements with the Ontario Power Authority (OPA) for purchasing power under which the companies are obliged to provide 870 MW of green power from wind projects to OPA, enough to supply power for over 300,000 homes yearly.

ABB won 1 billion dollars order

A leading power and automation technology group, ABB, will receive around 1 billion dollars from the TenneT, a Dutch-German transmission grid operator to furnish a power grid that will connect the North Sea wind farms to the German main grid that will have a total transmission capacity of over 900 MW.

Germany to boost its renewable share by 2022

After the German Government decided to completely shut down its nuclear power by 2022, the renewable energy became a more and more inquired energy source and attractive sector for investments. According to the European Wind Energy Association, Germany plans to add 1,800 MW of new wind power capacity during this year, 16% more as compared to 2010 with 1,551 MW.

Solaria to enter into the UK”s PV market

Solaria Energia Medio Ambientale has inked an important agreement as to provide over 500 rooftop solar PV systems in Northumbria in the United Kingdom. The modules will have a generation capacity between 2kW and 10 kW and will be set on the rooftops of council houses and public buildings. The project will receive funding from the country council.

Gamesa increased its sales in the first half of 2011

Gamesa sold its first MW of capacity in Brazil during the first half of 2011, while its whole sales were made outside Spain. The company’s revenue accounted 1,297 million euros in the first half of the year, with an increase in wind-turbine sales by 29%.
