Norway proposes tariff cut in its gas pipeline system
Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ola Borten Moe, proposed on Tuesday to slash natural gas transport tariffs for new gas contracts, aiming to encourage higher production and exploration in mature fields. Norway is the world`s second largest gas exporter supplying about 18% of Europe’s needs.

TNK-BP to be involved in $31 bln long-term gas deals
The shareholders of two generating companies controlled by billionaire Viktor Vekselberg's Integrated Energy Systems Holding (IES) - Volga TGK and TGK-9 are envisaging signing contracts in December with TNK-BP's SL Trading for gas supplies worth up to $31 billion in the period to 2030, according to statements from the power companies.

Europe is willing to renegotiate gas pricing with Gazprom
The EU Commission launched a probe earlier this month into exports by Gazprom, because of suspicions that the company was hindering the free flow of gas across the EU and imposing unfair prices by linking the cost of gas to oil prices. Moscow has said Gazprom, which has a legal monopoly on gas exports from Russia, will fight the case but will not cut supplies in retaliation. Gazprom's oil-linked contracts are a touchy subject for the Russian government and Gazprom, a major contributor to the state budget which earns the bulk of its revenue from export. The EU's investigation ended a period of relative calm on the gas front between Brussels and Moscow, which objects to some of the EU's gas market liberalisation measures.

Nord Stream might be expanded
The expansion of the Nord Stream pipeline infrastructure should be considered as to meet the EU’s rising demand for imports of natural gas over the next decades as well as to secure gas supplies under existing contracts.
