Italy could face an additional cost of about €1 bn for energy
After the last week conflict in Algeria, when Islamic militants attacked a complex controlled by BP PLC, Norway's Statoil ASA and Algeria's state energy company Sonatrach, Italy could face an additional cost of almost 1 billion euro (£839m) per year for energy, because of the interruption of Algerian gas supplies.

AcegasAps, Italgas to create a gas distribution JV in northern Italy
The Italian gas distributors AcegasAps and Italgas (Snam group) inked a framework agreement today for the establishment of a joint venture to manage the gas distribution activities in the territories of Padua, Pordenone, Trieste and Gorizia, in northeastern Italy.

IBC solar completes 5 MW PV plant in Italy
German photovoltaic (PV) systems provider IBC Solar AG today revealed that it had installed and attached to the grid a 5 MW PV plant in Maniago, northern Italy, in a record of 49 days, working as the general contractor of the project.
