U.S. crude oil futures edged slightly up on Friday as weak home sales data sparked economic worries and pared earlier crude gains supported by a weaker dollar. U.S. crude for July delivery traded at 100.59 dollars a barrel, up 36 cents after a trading range from 100.04 to 101.24 dollars.

Crude oil futures increased on Tuesday after Goldman Sachs raised its forecasts on Brent crude and as a weaker dollar attracted traders to commodities, while released economic data indicated an increase in sales of U.S. single-family homes. U.S. crude for July delivery traded at 99.59 dollars a barrel, lifting 1.89 dollars after a trading range from 96.61 and 100.09 dollars, while ICE Brent crude for delivery in July settled at 112.53 dollars a barrel, up 2.43 dollars, after a trading range between 109.50 and 112.65 dollars.

Major sale agreement between Canadian Solar and German Saferay

Recently, one of the major solar module producers, Canadian Solar, has inked a sale agreement with a German based company, Saferay GmbH for a fixed price for solar projects to be developed in Germany. Under the present agreement, the Canadian company is expected to deliver solar modules with the total capacity of 81 MW by the end of the third quarter 2011.

Centrica warns of sharply increase in U.K energy bills

The owner of British Gas, Centrica warned that U.K. customers could be facing future hikes in gas and electricity prices by a quarter compared to the last year, following the increased taxes combined with higher costs of wholesale gas.
