China: oil demand to lowest level in 5 years

Because of easing economic growth, China's oil consumption in 2013 registered the slowest growth in five years. According to Reuters calculations, China's oil demand grew 1.6% in 2013, the weakest yearly growth in five years, while in December, when it burned roughly 10.06 million barrels per day of oil, it registered a decrease of about 7.5% in comparison to the same period of a year before. For the whole of 2013, oil demand was about 9.78 million bpd, about 150,000 bpd higher than 2012.
