DECC: half a million of UK households have solar installations

According to new data offered by the Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC), at the end of October something like 478,431 homes across the UK have solar installations, which represents a combined peak capacity of about 1.3 GW, which makes domestic solar the largest sub-sector of the solar market.

Centrica to abandon plans for a 2 billion pound wind farm

Centrica has announced it intends to abandon plans to build a 2 billion pound offshore wind farm as it said that subsidies offered by the government are too low. The UK based energy company added also that it will not build the Race Bank wind farm unless the government enhances the projected subsidies.
