Oil prices jumped on Thursday, on prediction of strong demand, and export threats with suspension of oil and gas from Russia to some buyers. Consequently, Brent crude surged by 1.3% to $89.15 a barrel, and WTI crude oil soared by 1.9% to $83.54 a barrel.

The price of crude oil decreased to a 7-month low on Wednesday, influenced by forecasts of weakening demand and flagging global growth. As such, Brent crude settled 5.2% lower at $88 a barrel. WTI crude fell by 5.7% to $81.94.

Crude oil prices retreated to their lowest level in more than a month on Wednesday, with losses attributed to weak economic forecasts for the global economy after major central banks hiked interest rates. Hence, Brent crude fell by $2.91, or 2.5%, to settle at $111.74 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude dropped by $3.33, or 3%, to settle at $106.19 a barrel.

Oil prices fell sharply on Tuesday on demand concerns after the International Monetary Fund (IMF) cut its economic growth forecasts and warned of higher inflation. Hence, Brent crude dropped by $5.91, or 5.2%, to settle at $107.25 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude dropped $5.65, or 5.2%, to settle at $102.56 a barrel.

Crude oil prices were mixed on Friday, as escalating tensions in the Russia-Ukraine crisis were offset by prospects of returning Iranian crude supply, as talks moved forward on a nuclear deal. As such, Brent oil rose by 0.6% to $93.54 a barrel. At the same time, WTI crude fell by 0.8% to $91.07 a barrel.
