ABB obtains $250 million order to connect offshore wind farm to UK grid

Swiss technology conglomerate ABB has obtained an order valued at more than $250 million from Danish energy firm DONG Energy to supply a high-voltage cable system linking the Hornsea Project One offshore wind farm in the North Sea to Britain's continental grid, as it stated on Thursday.

Vattenfall will construct 3.6 GW of offshore wind in UK

Sweden’s Vattenfall has begun plans for one of the biggest offshore wind farms in the North Sea. Norfolk Vanguard and bordering Norfolk Boreas will each have a capacity of 1.8 gigawatts. In the meantime, a new British study expects to reduce the cost of offshore wind to 12.8 cents, which would still lead to a quarter more expensive electricity than in Germany in spite of the better or equal conditions in the UK.

Siemens wins $81 million wind turbine agreement for Bosnian utility

Bosnia's power utility Elektroprivreda HZHB (EPHZHB) declared on Friday it had awarded a 72 million euro ($81 million) agreement to German industrial group Siemens to provide wind turbines for its future 44 megawatt (MW) wind farm.
