Crude oil prices tumbled on both sides of Atlantic, touching the lowest level in more than two years on Tuesday, with WTI crude recording its largest daily drop since 2012, as a decline in gasoline prices and end-of-quarter selling reduced three months of losses. Brent crude for November delivery plummeted $2.53 to settle at $94.67 a barrel, posting a 16 percent loss for the quarter. U.S. crude decreased by $3.41 to close at $91.16 a barrel, its biggest one-day loss since November 2012.

Brent and U.S. crude recorded modest gains on Wednesday, after Brent rebounded from a 14-month low hit on Tuesday. Brent crude for October delivery boosted 72 cents to close at $102.28 a barrel. The expiring U.S. September crude contract raised 1.59$ to settle at $96.07, while the October crude rose 59 cents to settle at $93.45.
