Egypt's state gas board EGAS declared on Monday it is to acquire 55 cargoes of liquefied natural gas (LNG), 10 more than initially scheduled, through a tender it has awarded to seven firms which will supply the fuel from the beginning of November.

Crude oil prices soared over $2 a barrel on Tuesday, breaking out of a month-long trading range on technical buying and industry talks as well as spurred by U.S government figures indicating that the global oversupply could ease. Brent rose by $2.67, or 5.4 percent, to settle at $51.92, breaking out of the $47 threshold it had held since early September. WTI jumped by $2.27, or 4.9 percent, to close at $48.53 a barrel.

Crude oil markets declined on Wednesday, with WTI crude futures falling 4% after optimistic impact from weaker crude inventories was compensated by a large increase in gasoline, intensifying concerns about robust autumn fuel supplies. Brent crude tumbled $1.33, or 2.7 percent, to settle at $47.75 a barrel. WTI crude shed $1.88, or 4.1 percent, to close at $44.48.

Crude oil prices declined 5 percent on Monday to hit their weakest level since January, dragging down global benchmark Brent below $50 a barrel as weak factory activity in China dipped a commodity-wide rout. Brent crude closed down $2.69, or 5.2 percent, to touch $49.52 a barrel. U.S. crude dropped $1.95, or 4.1 percent, to hit $45.17, just about $3 above its 2015 bottom.
