Brent crude traded above $110 a barrel on Wednesday, destabilized by internal conflict in South Sudan and oil supply disruption in Libya, while protests in Venezuela raised concerns. Brent crude oil registered a slight increase, buoyed by supply concerns in Middle East, as the Syrian civil war has impeded development of Iraq's oil and gas reserves and a key pipeline to the Mediterranean has exploded dozens of times. Brent oil increased 44 cents to settle at $107.85 per barrel.

Oil prices traded higher in heavy trade on Thursday, supported by strong economic data from China, the eurozone and the United States, with U.S. crude prices getting an additional support from expectations that the key Seaway pipeline could resume full capacity operation within a week.

Brent crude decreased 2 cents at $112.16 per barrel at 10:22 GMT, while U.S. crude was down 8 cents at $100.24. The contract broke above the $100-mark on Friday for the first time since the end of October. U.S. crude oil stocks fell by 4.7 million barrels last week as the Gulf Coast continued to shed inventories, even as U.S. oil production reached a 25-year high. While the spread between the two benchmarks widened on Monday to around $12, it is expected to narrow as the Keystone XL pipeline is set to start operations in the United States.
