Slovak nuclear energy passes stress tests

The Slovak nuclear energy regulator announced recently that the country’s four nuclear reactors passed the stress tests with the results presented in a 178-page report. No deficiencies were identified which could query the further safe operation of the existing nuclear plants.

EBRD loans 45 million euros to Serbian hydropower

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development approved a 45 million euros loan for the Serbian state-owned company, Elecktroprivreda Srbije (EPS), which will be allotted for building seven new hydropower plants and for modernizing 15 existing small hydropower ones.

EDF Energy to increase its nuclear investment in UK

Siemens to invest EUR 66 million in gas turbine research

Industrial group Siemens has announced its plans to invest EUR 66 million in the construction of new test centre for gas turbines near Berlin, Germany, which will make possible to study and validate the combustion processes in gas turbines, enabling the construction of more efficient gas power plants.

Duke acquires Arizona PV plants

Duke Energy Renewable has recently acquired from Recurrent Energy two utility-scale power plants in Arizona, the Ajo Solar Project and Bagdad Solar Project for an unknown amount. These represent the company’s first plants in the West of America.
