French nuclear power plants passed safety tests

U.S. PV Solar Installations Sharply Increased in Q2 2011

U.S. grid-connected installations of photovoltaic solar panels increased by 69% in Q2 2011 year-over-year, reaching 314 MW, and by 17% quarter-over-quarter mainly due to nonresidential and utility-scale projects which overshadowed a weaker residential solar market as recently published in a report released by industry trade group the Solar Energy Industries Association and research firm GTM Research, U.S. Solar Market Insight.

Explosion at one of the oldest French nuclear plant

An explosion at Marcoule nuclear plant, owned by French power utility EDF occurred in southern France on Monday, killing at least one person and wounding four more, according to French Nuclear Safety Authority regulator.
