Crude oil prices struggled for direction on Monday amid uncertainty whether crude supplies will increase and demand will be constrained by the recent surge in energy costs and rising COVID-19 cases. Hence, Brent crude softened by 0.2% to settle at $82.05 a barrel. At the same time, U.S. WTI crude added 0.1% to and at $80.88 a barrel.

Oil prices retreated on Friday, pressured by a stronger US dollar and the gradual recovery of production facilities in the Gulf of Mexico. As such, Brent oil slipped by 0.4% at $75.34 a barrel and WTI crude ended 0.9% lower at $71.97 a barrel.

Ukrainian nuclear power plant operator Energoatom and the country's transmission system operator Ukrenergo completed tests last week at unit 1 of the Zaporozhe nuclear power plant for the provision of ancillary frequency maintenance reserve services at +/-20 MW. The tests should confirm the compliance of the unit with the requirements of the Transmission System Code in order to obtain a certificate entitling Energoatom to introduce the power unit to the ancillary services market.
