Daily: European spot power prices drop on robust wind power supply, tightening demand
Brent crude futures declined for a fifth consecutive day on Tuesday to close below $60 a barrel, while WTI crude ended a volatile session slightly higher as trading of expiring options helped defend the price above $55. Brent crude for January delivery slipped $1.20, or nearly 2 percent, to settle at $59.86 a barrel. The contract has lost more than 10 percent in five days of trading. U.S. crude's front-month rose 2 cents to close at $55.93 a barrel. Its session low of $53.60 was the lowest since May 2009.

Denmark: Vestas signed wind power agreement in Vietnam
Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems declared on Wednesday it had inked a deal with Vietnamese company Phu Cuong Group to expand a wind power project but debated the value of $2 billion published by the Vietnam Economic Times.

Daily: European prompt power prices fall on strong wind supply, lower consumption
Brent crude recovered on Tuesday after a 5-year low and U.S. crude also rebounded as players were looking for a viable price for oil in a market chased by supply glut worries. Brent increased 65 cents, or 1 percent, to settle at $66.84 a barrel. U.S. crude rose 77 cents to close at $63.82 a barrel, after having fluctuated between a high of $64.20 and low of $62.25.

Northern Ireland’s sole offshore wind project abandoned

Belgium will depend all winter on electricity imports
Belgium will have to import electricity every week this winter in case of cold snap and amid weak wind and solar energy output. The situation in Belgium is very tense, with the country becoming structurally dependent on imports after being deprived of several nuclear reactors.
