Bulgaria starts the construction of its gas interconnector with Romania

After the gas dispute between Ukraine and Russia last year which has left Bulgaria without gas for three weeks in the winter period, the European Council decided that every member state should have at least two sources of gas and electricity by 2014, in order to avoid repeating the Russian-Ukrainian gas crisis.

Enel Green Power has completed a new wind farm in Romania

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power (EGP) has fully grid-connected the new Moldova Noua wind farm in the Banat, Romania. The fully operational plant includes 21 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 48MW, and will be able to generate some 130 million kilowatt hours, therefore avoiding the emission of over 70 thousand tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.

Bulgaria starts construction of gas pipeline with Romania

In 2009 Bulgartransgaz EAD and S.N.T.G.N. Transgaz S.A. signed a Memorandum of agreement according to which the two countries should cooperate in the construction of the Gas Interconnection Bulgaria – Romania Project.

Russian gas supplies returning to normal levels in the most European states

Russian gas flows to Bulgaria, Slovakia, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Greece have been reinstated to normal volumes over the weekend, while the gas deliveries to Romania, Germany, and Italy are increasing, European Commission press secretary Marlene Holzner said on Monday.
