Daily: Crude oil prices get support from geopolitical concerns

Crude oil prices increased on Tuesday as tensions increased in eastern Ukraine and obtaining further support from a sudden violence in Libya, raising questions when oil flows will restart. Brent crude futures for June delivery closed at $108.98 per barrel, increasing 86 cents, or 0.8 percent, after having hovered much of the day above $109 per barrel. Meanwhile, U.S. crude for June delivery gained 44 cents to settle at $101.28 per barrel, up 0.44 percent.

Slovakia reaches agreement to convey limited gas volumes to Ukraine

The agreement between Slovakia and Ukraine concerning the opening up of limited capacity for reverse flow of natural gas from central Europe to Ukraine is expected to be signed in Bratislava on Monday, as stated by Tomas Malatinsky, the Slovak Economy Ministry on Saturday.

Ukraine and Slovakia in talks for bigger gas deliveries

Ukraine might sign an agreement on Monday consenting to the gas transport of almost 10 billion cubic meters (bcm) per year from Slovakia, according to ministers from both countries, even if Ukraine declares its neighbor could inject three times more.
