One of the largest biomass power plant to be developed in Florida, US

The developers of a 100 MW biomass power plant (GREC), situated in northern Florida, collected a sum of 500 million dollars, necessary to complete the construction of the plant and make it operational by the end of 2013. The plant will be purveyed with clean wood waste such as tops and limbs from harvested trees, urban wood waste and residue from lumber mill operations.

Dutch top court gives the green light to RWE’s coal-fired plant

The German utility, RWE has been allowed to continue limited construction of a 1,560 MW coal-fired plant after Netherlands' highest administrative court on Friday dismissed a request from environmentalists who said the company should lay down work until it has the required permits.

Statkraft to develop several wind farms

Statkraft announced the start of the development of a new wind farm in Sweden, Stamåsen 1, of 60 MW and worth 108 million euros, which will complete the company’s portfolio with the second wind farm under construction in Central Sweden, thus consolidating its position as the largest energy actor in the European renewable energy industry.
