RWE to restart 3 lignite units (900 MW) this winter
German utility RWE will restart three lignite units – Neurath C (292 MW), Niederaussem E (295 MW) and F (299 MW) – from 1 October, with the facilities currently in reserve, the company said on Thursday.

Daily (09.08.2022): Long-term gas prices fell in line with lower carbon prices and amid strong storage injections
Crude oil prices rebounded from multi-months lows touched last week as upbeat economic data from China and the United States fed hopes for a stronger demand despite persisting fears of a recession. Thus, Brent crude rose by 1.8%, to settle at $96.65 a barrel, WTI crude increased by 2% to $90.76.

Daily (22.07.2022): EUA prices fell for a fourth day in a row on Thursday due to the new EU energy saving plan
The ECB rate hike and larger gasoline stocks in the United States both contributed to Thursday's decline in oil prices. On the other hand, the return of Libyan oil supplies and the restart of Russian gas exports to Europe relieved supply constraints. Thus, Brent crude ended 2.9% lower at $103.86 a barrel. WTI crude fell by 3.5% to settle at $96.35 a barrel.

Construction of Egypt's first nuclear power plant under way
The first safety-related concrete has been poured for the nuclear island of unit 1 of the El Dabaa nuclear power plant in Egypt. It marks the official start of construction of the first of four Russian-supplied VVER-1200 reactors at the site on the country's Mediterranean coast.

(Daily 15.07.2022): Oil prices fell to a one-month low due to weak demand
Oil prices fell on Thursday as investors are concentrated on the possibility of a significant rate hike in the United States later this month, which may reduce inflation but also dampen oil demand. Thus, Brent and WTI crude ended both 0.5% lower at $99.10 and $95.78 a barrel respectively.
