Solar Energy: France to build an Institute for Excellence in Carbon-free Energy

PV industry production increased despite a decline in investments

Global production of solar cells grew by 10% last year and Europe continues to be a leader in newly installed capacities representing almost 52% of the new worldwide installed capacity, while the total investment in renewable energy declined significantly in 2012 in comparison to a year before levels with a major decrease for both solar and wind energy investments.

Norway: 8 new wind farms to be build in a bid to triple capacity

Norway has an excellent wind power potential. Norway has an official goal of triple its capacity to more than 2 GW and to have 67.5 % of its energy consumption from renewable sources by 2020. The potential for wind power in Norway is however much greater than this and totally there is applied for 66 TWh with wind power in Norway.
