Statoil signed a 15-year contract with Stadtwerke Düsseldorf
Norwegian oil group Statoil intends to provide Germany's Stadtwerke Duesseldorf with gas for 15 years for a planned 600 MW gas-fired power plant. The new combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) plant will be erected at the site of Stadtwerke Dusseldorf's existing power plant in Lausward, Duesseldorf .

Three oil majors subject to EU raids over price manipulation
European anti-trust authorities have conducted unexpected raids at offices of at least three oil majors Shell, BP and Statoil, being suspected of manipulation in global oil prices over a decade, marking one of the biggest international actions since the Libor rigging scandal which shook the markets.

Statoil to build a new oil hub in Europe
Norway's Statoil is to build an oil terminal in the Arctic, which according to the Norwegian group could spark “a new industrial era” in the region. Norway's Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Ola Borten Moe said that Statoil ASA's plan to bring oil by pipeline from the Barents Sea to a new terminal in the country's far north could lead the way to a permanent oil hub in the Arctic.
