Daily (03.10.2019): UK gas futures posted important losses on Wednesday amid strong pipeline and LNG supplies

Crude oil prices extended losses on Wednesday, after data showed a build in the U.S. crude inventories. Furthermore, pessimistic economic data in the U.S. dragged down the equities market, weighing on the global oil demand. Fading geopolitical tensions in the Middle East stoked oversupply fears, adding to the market bearishness. Against that background, Brent crude dropped by 2% to $57.69 a barrel, while WTI futures settled 1.8% lower at $52.64 a barrel.

Daily (12.09.2019): WTI crude lost almost 3% on Wednesday, on news that U.S. might ease sanctions on Iran

Crude oil prices declined on Wednesday, as U.S. administration could ease sanctions against Iran, thereby inflate global supplies. At the same time, both OPEC and EIA slashed demand forecasts this week. Consequently, WTI crude dropped by 2.9% to $55.75 a barrel, while Brent oil decreased by 2.5% to $60.81 a barrel.

Daily (20.08.2019): Brent crude surged by around 2% on Monday on worries about global oil supplies

Crude oil prices rose on Monday after Yemen’s Houthi forces used a drone to attack an oilfield in eastern Saudi Arabia on Saturday, threatening global oil supplies. Brent crude added $1.1, or 1.9% to settle at $59.74 a barrel. WTI futures gained $1.34, or 2.4% to end at $56.21 a barrel.

Daily (13.08.2019): European carbon prices slumped by over 5% on Monday amid a weaker auction

Oil prices remained bullish on Monday, on expectations for deeper cuts of global oil supplies that might counterbalance the slowing growth of global crude demand driven by the U.S.-China trade dispute. Brent crude traded 0.1% up at $58.57 a barrel. At the same time, the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, along with a weakening dollar, pushed the WTI futures 0.8% higher at $54.93 a barrel.
