Tullow Oil quits its Lupus exploration well in Norway

Tullow Oil PLC unveiled it had stopped up and quitted its Lupus exploration well in the Norwegian North Sea blaming its failure to find any hydrocarbons. The well is 35km south-east of the Oseberg Sor Field and 110km west of the island of Sotra in the North Sea.

Oil major Total starts Edradour gas fields expansion

French oil major Total decided to expand the Edradour gas field, in the West of Shetland region, after negotiating less elevated prices with contractors, as well as purchasing a 60 percent stake in the adjacent Glenlivet field, according to the company on Thursday.

Daily: Brent, U.S. crude oil trade higher on geopolitical worries in Ukraine, unrests in Libya

Brent and U.S. crude futures traded higher on Friday, buoyed by geopolitical worries in Ukraine and civilian unrests in Libya, as well as by upbeat economic figures in the United States and China. Both Brent and U.S. crude registered weekly gains for a second consecutive week.

Russia warns about gas cut if Ukraine does not pay by June 2

Russia repeated on Monday its threat to cut natural gas supplies to Ukraine if Kiev would not be able to pay in advance for June deliveries, stating as well that more discussions on the matter were also conditional on payment.
