EDF extends Bugey 3 outage, stops other units (4.8 GW)

EDF has extended an outage at its French Bugey 3 (910 MW) reactor by 10 days to 10 June, while stopping other units for modulation, reducing total capacity by 4.8 GW, transparency data showed on Friday.

AES Bulgarian units produce over 415,000 MWh since March 13

AES Bulgaria, a unit of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation, said on Tuesday that its thermal power plant (TPP) AES Galabovo and the Saint Nikola Wind Farm have produced some 415,000 MWh of electricity since March 13 when a countrywide state of emergency was declared due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Westinghouse to upgrade control system of Bulgaria's Kozloduy NPP

Westinghouse Electric Company said on Thursday that it has signed a contract with Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant (NPP) to migrate the current Ovation platform-based information and control systems at the plant's units 5 and 6 to its latest standard.

Last of four Kola units gets extended operation licence

Russian regulator Rostechnadzor has issued a 15-year operating licence extension for unit 2 of the Kola nuclear power plant to 2034. Kola NPP is located 200 km south of Murmansk, on the shore of Lake Imandra. It produces about 60% of the electricity of the Murmansk region.
