Spain on the point of endorsing new renewable energy rules
The Spanish cabinet might consent on Friday a decree that will reduce renewable energy subsidies as part of an obligation to diminish a 30 billion euro ($41 billion) power tariff deficit, developed during years of maintaining prices below regulated costs.

Siemens strikes the second onshore wind deal in Peru
Siemens, the German multinational engineering and electronics conglomerate, has been awarded a contract by Spain-based Cobra Energia to supply 97MW of onshore wind turbines to the Tres Hermanas wind project in Peru. The new wind plant is the second project that Spanish developer Cobra is performing with Siemens in Peru.

European power markets register the first growth since 2010
The power trading volumes on the European wholesale market increased last year for the first time in three years but were nevertheless below 80 percent of their maximum level registered in 2010, according to a report presented by the research firm Prospex, which investigated the markets growth in several countries, such as Germany, the Nordic region, Britain, Italy, Spain, France and the Netherlands.

Spain: reductions in renewable energy sector lead to 1.7 billion euros losses
Spain's reductions in subsidies for renewable energy will affect company gains by approximately 1.7 billion euros ($2.34 billion) this year, according to the statement made by the country's competition regulator CNMC in a report on Monday.
