EDF Energy, the British arm of France's biggest energy company EDF, is the latest of the “big six” to announce the suspension of its doorstep sales practice, following the similar actions of other energy suppliers as British Gas in August and Scottish and Southern Energy in July.

Tax rebates for natural gas imports in China

China will offer a tax rebate for its growing imports of natural gas, as well as for piped gas from Central Asia and seaborne shipments of LNG. The rebates will be in force from 2011 to 2020 and will be applied in case of higher costs of imports than the domestic wholesale prices.

E.ON increases its bills despite a drop in gas costs

Despite a drop in gas wholesale prices, which hit the lowest level this year, E.ON became the last of the six energy suppliers to boost the bills for the consumers by 18% for gas and 11.4% for electricity from September, copying the earlier decision of British Gas, Scottish Power and Scottish & Southern.

Gamesa increased its sales in the first half of 2011

Gamesa sold its first MW of capacity in Brazil during the first half of 2011, while its whole sales were made outside Spain. The company’s revenue accounted 1,297 million euros in the first half of the year, with an increase in wind-turbine sales by 29%.
