Daily: European coal prices plunge to more than 7-year low on supply glut

Crude oil prices climbed on Wednesday, with Brent recovering from a four-year low, as traders reacted to gossip of a pipeline explosion in Saudi Arabia and upbeat news related to U.S. crude inventories. Benchmark Brent oil settled up 13 cents at $82.95 a barrel. U.S. WTI crude rebounded $1.49 to settle at $78.68 a barrel.

Croatia recommences arrangements for LNG terminal at KRK

Croatia has renewed a viability study for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal on the island of Krk, the southern end of a gas pipeline corridor linking the country and Poland's Baltic port of Swinoujscie which should aid expand energy supplies for central Europe and reduce reliance on Russian imports, as stated by economy minister Ivan Vrdoljak on Tuesday.

Poland: EU thinks about funding new gas pipelines in CEE

Gas pipeline operators in Poland, Lithuania, Czech Republic and Slovakia could possibly obtain 1.3 billion zlotys ($388 million) from the European Union to set up links between them, as stated by Polish state operator Gaz-System.
