Gazprom boosts gas export outlook to Europe on higher export volumes

The Russian energy giant, Gazprom has further raised its forecast on 2011 revenues from gas exports to Europe, according to which its expected profit from gas exports will represent $60 billion compared with almost $44 billion in 2010, taking into consideration the higher export volumes, the jump of prices and recovered demand, the Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev said on Monday.

Statoil halted production at its Njord platform following a gas leak

Norwegian oil giant Statoil announced that it had to halt its production on the Njord platform on Sunday as a result of operational problems with gaskets in a gas export compressor. Later, a gas leak was discovered in one of the risers.
