Daily: Brent crude oil drops by about $1 on Libyan ports reopening
Brent crude oil dropped by about $1 to its weakest level in almost five months on Wednesday, dragging down U.S. crude with it, as Libyan government declared that they could reach to a deal with rebels to reopen the ports after months of closures. Brent crude oil closed 83 cents lower at $104.79 a barrel after declining to $103.95, its lowest point since November 8.

China: Coal consumption continues to grow
China is dealing with a big air quality problem, so recently the Government has announced that they will reduce their coal consumption share from its current 67 percent to 65 percent by 2017. The country intends to convert coal in syntethic gas, but this will result in more carbon dioxide emissions released because converting coal to make synthetic gas and then combusting the gas to make electricity will double the amount of carbon dioxide emissions released in the atmosphere.

Turkey: $1.7 billion loan deal negotiated between DenizBank and Socar
Turkey’s DenizBank lender, owned by Russia, is in negotiations with Azeri state-owned oil firm SOCAR over a loan package for investments of about $1.7 billion, as stated on Friday by Hakan Ates, DenizBank Chief Executive Officer.

Timchenko’s Stroitransgaz set for 3.5 billion euro South Stream deal
A conglomerate run by Stroitransgaz, managed by Gennady Timchenko, an important businessman touched by U.S. sanctions, won a transaction of about 3.5 billion euro to construct a segment of the South Stream natural gas pipeline traversing Bulgaria, as stated by industry sources on Friday.
