EDF Extend life of Hunterston B nuclear power plant until 2023

Hunterston B nuclear power plant has been operating since 1976, and has a combined capacity of 890,000kW. It had been scheduled to close in 2016, but yesterday, power firm EDF Energy has announced that the operating life of Hunterston B nuclear power station in Ayrshire has been extended by seven years.
