Iran and Armenia to boost energy cooperation

The Iranian newspaper Teheran Times reported that Iran and Armenia will start the construction of a third electricity transmission line between the two countries within two weeks. The project is estimated to cost about $110 million and will have a capacity of 800-900MW between the two countries.

Stronger energy cooperation between China and US accomplished

A new stage was accomplished at the third round of the China Strategic Economic Dialogues that took place in Washington (USA) on May 10th at which several “energy subjects” were discussed, mainly focused on the joint development of innovative power grids and large scale wind power projects, as well as establishing commercial activities tied to natural gas, shale gas and bio-jet fuel and information share in energy management experience.

Russia and China to boost energy cooperation

China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) and the Russian energy giant Rosneft agreed to build a Sino-Russian oil refinery in Tianjin, northern China, until the end of this year. The refinery will be built by the Russian-Chinese joint venture and is estimated to cost about 4.62 billion U.S. dollars.

Rosneft is looking for new partners

The Russian oil giant Rosneft announced on Wednesday that it will cease the cooperation with BP and will seek for other partners in exploring Arctic blocks, after the British company hesitated to honor its $16 billion share swap.
